Apollo Safety pleased to offer a training course titled “Basic Gas Detection and Confined Space Entry,” designed to teach companies to not only enter these confined spaces safely, but to utilize gas detection instruments in an safe and effective way in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

In response to these recent accidents, John V. Carvalho III, president and CEO of Apollo Safety said, “Most of us in the industry realize these incidents are preventable with proper and continuous use of gas detection. Unfortunately, many who work underground, especially in regard to sewage, falsely believe they can ‘smell’ when the air is ‘too bad’ to continue to work. It is imperative for every person who enters a confined space to use a properly calibrated gas detector prior to the entry and continuously throughout the entire entry. Our thoughts and prayers go out the families, friends, and co-workers of these gentlemen.

“We at Apollo Safety understand the danger workers face when entering confined spaces, and we will design a Confined Space Entry (CSE) plan specific to individual companies. Our training program focuses on OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146.”
